A Technology project in Armenia by Vehanush Hovhannisyan from Armenia
For the past 3 years, Meghvik Youth Organization has offered training courses in the field of information technology. We now have two brand new classrooms where we teach Robotics, Photoshop and Programming. Our wish is to open a third one and use it as a startup incubator to help develop project ideas.
In 2012 Gyumri was named the “Technocity of Armenia”.
Since then, there has been a huge demand for skilled IT workers. To satisfy this demand, we plan to expand our Gyumri center with a startup center where, initially, ten students will work with an experienced coach who will teach them about startups and entrepreneurship. This will be used as a pilot program.
Our goal is simple but ambitious: turn our center into a leading IT and startup training center in Gyumri.
Our training program will last one year and will give young people in Gyumri the basic skills needed to work in the IT sector, as well as the entrepreneurial and business knowledge to build and run their own companies if they desire.
How will we do this? With your support!
With the money we collect on Boostbloom, we will be able to purchase enough computers, tables, and chairs for 10 people. We will also hire a local teacher and buy a projector, a smart board and utilities for one year. The smart board will be used for presenting and testing apps, for presentations, and as an interactive teaching tool to keep students motivated.
