A Photography project in Armenia by Georgina Kessidjian from Armenia
Because we Armenians have not been taught to smile on camera, this project is about a photo album of Armenians SMILING. It may seem a challenge –it certainly is in most cases- but if you consider how cold the winter is in Armenia, remember there's nothing more heartwarming than a genuine smile.
FROM TODAY:
"I AM GOING TO MEET AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN AND ASK THEM TO SMILE ON CAMERA."
But not any people!
My job will be to convince people who do not want to smile, to give me a real genuine smile, to be shown to the world. I am going to walk a lot, drive a lot, and cruise a lot, in the mountains, the hills and the villages of Armenia. The more reclusive? The better! The shyer, the more appealing, the more sad looking, the more challenging! I will be using a high resolution camera. Pictures taken will be sent to every smiling person that will appear in the book. My beloved backers will receive the book and many other things!
And when you my backers will open the book, on every page you will have someone smiling at you. I suggest you open a new page every day. By doing this, you will make a new friend daily.
This $2500 will allow me to travel to remote villages of Armenia and choose the best characters to appear in the book you will receive if you choose to back my project.
